Inspired by the Museum of Jurassic Technology, the Musée Mechanique, Tinker Town & the Abita Mystery House - this year, we create a mini-museum showing and telling glimpses, visions and speculations about beavers in the form of exhibits, footage and more. We explore the phenomenon of stigmergy, and honor the beaver for its contributions in legend, myth and present day.

We look at its role in the world of fashion, its value - which at one time enriched one man to own much of Manhattan, and drove a bloody and decimating Westward Expansion - as well as wildfire mitigation, early medicine, and terraformation.

The Squarehead, a historic 1931 wooden boat known as a “hay scow,” will travel from the Delta region, across the Bay, to return to its city of origin, San Francisco.

There, we will present a few intimate performances atop and inside the boat, among the exhibits.
