As co-founder of the project in 2015, following several temporary Music Box installations since 2009, I wrote the business plan and worked with patrons to assemble a board and funding for purchase of the property, and the initial build and installation of sculptures to create the Village.

Over time, I worked with artists such as Darryl Montana of the Yellow Pocahontas Black Masking Indians, and Christine Sun Kim to create new “musical houses” on site. I also produced a national tour for our mobile Music Box, “Porch Life” which packed 18 sound-making interventions into an unfolding dioramic trailer. Developed in process with 11 artists, musicians, builders and inventors, we programmed appearances at Coney Island, DABLS African Bead Museum in Detroit, and the Kennedy Center in DC.

In further years, as Director of Strategy, I hired support staff, co-designed and executed new musical architecture and performance tours while also serving as Lead Artist on Airlift projects such as New Water Music, the Trans-National and other productions.
